Announces a competition for the post of assistant R2)
in the Department of Weed Science in Wrocław
Name and description of the position with regard to the European classification:
Recognised Reseacher (R2) researcher with a master’s or doctoral degree. The profile applies to individuals who are not fully independent researchers.
Scope of research work in the Department:
- Development of research projects (national and international)
- Conducting pot, micro-plot, field experiments
- Carrying out work in chemical and biological laboratory
- Analysis and elaboration of results obtained in experiments
- Publication of research results in scientific journals
- Presentation of research results at training courses, seminars and scientific conferences
Conditions to be fulfilled by the Candidate:
Mandatory requirements:
- Master’s degree in agricultural sciences or related field
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in scientific and research work (e.g. postgraduate or doctoral studies, work experience in a scientific unit)
- Authorship or co-authorship of at least two scientific publications from the list of journals of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education
- Submitted at least one formally correct research project (NCN, NCBR or other research funding institution)
- Achievements and motivation for scientific work and improvement of qualifications (e.g. participation in research projects, scientific studies, presentation of results – posters, papers)
- Ability to statistically process research results, analyse the data obtained and prepare publications
- Proven knowledge of spoken and written English
- Knowledge of plant growth and development (weeds and crops)
- Cat B driving licence.
Additional skills useful for the position:
- Operation of vegetation chambers (phytotrons)
- Experience in conducting tests under greenhouse and micro plot conditions
- Knowledge of plant protection
Career prospects:
An assistant professor may be promoted to the position of assistant professor after fulfilling the following conditions:
- Doctoral degree in agricultural, biological, chemical sciences. Economics or a related field,
- Achievements in previous scientific work, including authorship or co-authorship of scientific publications, with a total value of at least 100 points based on evaluation according to the list and scoring of journals from the list of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education (MNiSW) (min. 3 publications in journals included in the indexing of the Journal of Citation Report), of which at least 24 points gained after obtaining the doctoral degree,
- Development and submission of a formally correct research project to NCN, NCBR or other research funding institution,
- Motivation for scientific work documented by publications and participation in scientific life (including acting as an assistant promoter, scientific internships, participation in scientific conferences).
- Demonstrated knowledge of spoken and written English.
An assistant professor may be promoted to the position of professor at the Institute when the following conditions are met:
- In the case of an assistant professor holding a postdoctoral or doctoral degree in agricultural, biological, chemical, economic or related sciences:
- Willingness to undertake a research problem justified by the needs of the Institute.
- leadership of an externally funded research project or equivalent.a national or foreign research fellowship, or a comparable, documented collaboration with a foreign research institution through joint projects and/or scientific output.
- achievements in the training of scientific staff – acting as supervisor in at least one doctoral thesis initiated.
- achievements in scientific work so far, including authorship or co-authorship of scientific publications with a total value of at least 300 points based on the evaluation according to the list of journals from the list of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education
- activity in scientific life and organisational abilities (reviews of doctoral dissertations and in habilitation proceedings and of publications and/or research projects, organisation and participation in conferences, organisation of workshops, courses, etc.).
- In the case of an assistant professor holding a doctoral degree:
- demonstrating a distinguished scientific output in the represented field with a total value of at least 300 points based on the evaluation according to the list and scoring of journals from the MNiSW list;
- serving as an assistant supervisor in at least one doctoral thesis;
- having a recognised organisational track record in implementing and disseminating research results (e.g. obtaining a patent or documented implementation);
- qualifications will be assessed by the Scientific Council on the basis of the opinion of two reviewers, one of whom will be from outside the Institute.
Adjunct professors may be promoted to the position of professor after fulfilling the following conditions:
- academic title of professor in agricultural, biological, chemical or economic sciences;
- readiness to take up a research problem justified by the needs of the Institute;
- achievements in scientific work to date, including authorship or co-authorship of scientific publications with a total value of at least 450 points based on the evaluation according to the list of journals from the list of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education;
- participation in the training of scientific staff – acting as a supervisor in at least two doctoral theses, reviews of doctoral theses and in habilitation and professorship proceedings.
Salary of a staff member employed as an assistant:
Basic salary from PLN 4,900.00 to PLN 10,270.00

The results will be announced no later than 2 weeks after the closing of the competition.

- Purposes of processing and legal basis of data processing
- Your personal data, to the extent indicated in the provisions of the Labour Law (Article 22(1) of the Labour Code and § 1 of the Regulation of the Minister of Labour and Social Policy of 28.05.1996 on the scope of keeping records by employers in matters related to the employment relationship and the manner of keeping the employee’s personal file) will be processed by the Administrator of personal data on the basis of Article 6(1)(b) of the Regulation in order to carry out the recruitment procedure for the position of the President of the Company.

- Information on automated decision-making and profiling – The Institute of Soil Science and Plant Cultivation – PIB in Puławy will not use your data for automated decision-making and profiling.
- The provision of personal data contained in the application for the post is voluntary, but is a condition for entering the procedure of the said recruitment procedure. The personal data obtained will not be transferred to a third country/international organisation.
