assistant (R1) in the Department of Plant Nutrition and Fertilization

First Stage Researcher (R1) This profile covers supervised research subjects in research universities or research institutes. It applies to candidates up to the point of obtaining a doctoral degree, or
Scope of research work:
- Analysis of farm operations and production management, with particular emphasis on fertiliser issues.
- Analysing and solving problems arising from agricultural activities in terms of soil, water and air protection.
- Assessment of the current tasks facing agriculture, and identification of opportunities and constraints to their implementation arising from current legislation, strategies and international agreements.
- Analysis of the feasibility of using and treating waste for fertiliser purposes within a circular economy.
- Participation in current and future research projects carried out in the Department of Fertilisation and Nutrient Management.
- Participation in the implementation of tasks within the framework of a specific grant from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
Conditions to be met by the candidate:
- Master’s degree or doctoral degree in agricultural sciences or discipline of earth sciences, biological sciences, chemical sciences and related disciplines.
- Willingness to undertake research issues justified by the needs of the Institute.
- At least 2 years of experience in research or professional work thematically related to the field of research activity (e.g. postgraduate or doctoral studies, research internship, participation in research teams).
- Achievements in previous work, including authorship or co-authorship of scientific publications with a total value of at least 40 points, based on the evaluation according to the list
andpublications of journals from the list of MEiN, and presentation of research results at scientific conferences or workshops (paper, poster). - A predisposition to scientific work (e.g. willingness to search for new developments in agriculture experimentally and confront them with the literature, participation in research projects, presentation of research results at scientific conferences and workshops).
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Demonstrated knowledge of spoken and written English.
- Ability to operate computer equipment and knowledge of basic office software.
Additional skills useful for the position:
- Foreign research internship and/or participation in an international research project.
- Experience in conducting field and pot experiments (planning, setting up and operating experiments, collection of plant and soil samples).
- Ability to statistically analyse data and operate statistical software.
- Knowledge of scientific literature on fertilisation and agricultural environmental protection.
- Teaching skills (e.g. conducting training courses, classes with students/students)
- Category B driving licence.

Professional development prospects:
An assistant professor may be promoted to the position of assistant professor after fulfilling the following conditions:
- Possession of a doctoral degree in an agricultural science or earth science discipline, including biological, chemical, economic and related sciences.
- Achievements in previous scientific work, including authorship or co-authorship of scientific publications with a total value of at least 300 points calculated (for the entire evaluation period) on the basis of the current list of journals and publishing houses publishing peer-reviewed scientific monographs, announced by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education (min. 3 publications in journals indexed by the Journal of Citation Report), of which at least 70 points gained after obtaining the doctoral degree.
- Development and submission of a formally correct research project to NCN, NCBR or other research funding institution.
- Possession of motivation for scientific work documented by publications and participation in scientific life (including acting as an assistant promoter, scientific internships, participation in scientific conferences)
- Demonstrated knowledge of spoken and written English.
Adjunct professors may be promoted to the position of institute professor after fulfilling the following conditions:
Criteria for candidates holding a postdoctoral degree:
- A post-doctoral or doctoral degree in agricultural sciences or in the discipline of earth, biological, chemical, economic and related sciences.
- Willingness to undertake research issues justified by the needs of the Institute.
- Management of an externally funded research project or equivalent.
- National or foreign research internship, or comparable collaboration with a foreign research institution, documented by joint projects and/or scientific output.
- Achievement in academic staff training – acting as supervisor in at least one doctoral thesis initiated.
- Achievements in previous scientific work, including authorship or co-authorship of scientific publications with a total value of at least 900 points calculated (for the entire evaluation period) on the basis of the current list of journals and publishing houses publishing peer-reviewed scientific monographs, announced by a communication of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
- Activity in scientific life and organisational skills (reviewing dissertations and in habilitation proceedings and publications and/or research projects, organising and participating in conferences, organising workshops, courses, etc.).
Criteria for candidates with a doctoral degree:
- Demonstrate outstanding scientific achievements in the represented field with a total value of at least 900 points calculated (for the entire evaluation period) on the basis of the current list of journals and publishing houses publishing peer-reviewed scientific monographs, published in a communication of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
- Acting as an assistant promoter in at least one doctoral thesis.
- Have a recognised organisational track record of implementing and disseminating research results (e.g. obtaining a patent or documented implementation).
- Qualifications are assessed by the Academic Board on the basis of the opinions of two reviewers, one of whom is from outside the Institute.
Remuneration of staff member employed as Assistant Professor:
- PLN 4520.00 to PLN 9460.00 per month

- Purposes of processing and legal basis for processing
- Your personal data to the extent indicated in the provisions of the labour law (Article 221 of the Labour Code and § 1 of the Regulation of the Minister of Labour and Social Policy of 28.05.1996 on the scope of keeping documentation by employers in matters related to the employment relationship and the manner of keeping the employee’s personal file) will be processed by the Controller of personal data on the basis of Article 6(1)(b) of the Regulation in order to conduct the qualification procedure for the position of assistant professor.
- Article 6(1)(c) of the Regulation, the processing is necessary for the fulfilment of a legal obligation incumbent on the controller – Act of 16 December 2016 on the principles of state property management. The source of personal data will be information and documents provided by the data subject.
- With regard to data not required by law – the legal basis for processing will be your consent (Article 6(1)(a) of the Regulation). Your consent can be withdrawn at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of the processing carried out before its withdrawal.
- Period of processing – personal data will be processed until the end of the qualification process.
- Recipients of the data – your data may be accessed by authorised employees of the Administrator – members of the selection board.
- Rights related to data processing – You have the right to access your data, to request rectification, erasure or restriction of processing, to object to processing, to data portability, in the cases specified in the Regulation.
- Consent to the processing of personal data can be withdrawn at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of the processing carried out before the withdrawal.
- If you consider that the processing of your personal data violates the provisions of the Regulation, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the President of the Data Protection Authority.
- Information on automated decision-making and profiling – The Institute of Soil Science and Plant Cultivation – State Research Institute in Puławy will not use your data for automated decision-making and profiling.
- The provision of personal data contained in the application for the post is voluntary, but is a condition for proceeding with the said selection procedure. The personal data obtained will not be transferred to a third country/international organisation.
