Tasks performed by the Department
- Implementing research results and promoting progress in agriculture
- Cooperation with representatives of the knowledge and innovation system in agriculture (the so-called AKIS)
- Managing publications: the scientific journal Current Agronomy, monographs, other series of publications, and book editions
- Preparing and publishing dissemination materials, conference materials, and others in electronic and print forms
- Documenting the Institute’s publications and managing the IUNG-PIB scientific library
- Performing printing work
- Providing organizational support for congresses, conferences, training sessions, workshops, and other dissemination events related to the activities carried out by the Institute
- Preparing and conducting the commercialization process and intellectual property protection by:
- Conducting the process of selecting the form of intellectual property protection and the method and scope of its commercialization by the principles specified in the Institute’s internal regulations
- Regularly analyzing the justification for maintaining individual intellectual property rights and recommending decisions to the Director regarding the continuation, expiration, or transfer of rights to another entity
- Conducting regular analysis of non-commercialized rights, determining their commercialization potential, and classifying them according to that potential
- Performing analysis to ensure respect for the rights of other entities, particularly in products, goods, services, and technologies, before their market introduction, before the commercialization of rights, and in the case of transferring rights to the Institute. In justified cases, the analysis is repeated after the product, goods, services, or technology has been introduced to the market and during commercialization
- Conducting periodic analysis of potential rights infringements, based on collected information or reports from Institute employees
- Preparing a list of intellectual property rights to be analyzed during a given cycle. The Science Communication Department is responsible for establishing cycles for intellectual property rights
- Preparing recommendations for the Director of the Institute regarding decisions to maintain protection, expire rights, or transfer rights to another entity concerning intellectual property developed at the Institute.
